Happy New Year Beauties! One week in and I hope things are still going smoothly for you. 2016 bought so many life lessons with it. Love, loss, disappointment, forgiveness, success you name it I experienced it. Coming off of a hiatus with wrapping up classes, the holidays, and a career change! I’m looking forward to a new year full of dreams and new possibilities and creating exciting content on a more consistent schedule.
A lot of people I know avoid setting New Year’s resolutions like the plague BUT not me I’m a cliché, I love setting new goals especially at the start of a new year. Resolutions to me provide us with a clean slate to forgive ourselves and accomplish those new goals and get things done. This year I’ve claimed 2017 to be the year I put emphasis on those areas of growth that will help me be the best woman I can be going forward.
I don’t know about anyone else but sometimes I just get overwhelmed with well… STUFF. Since this past November, I’ve been working really hard on de-cluttering and simplifying my life to make things flow a lot easier and so far I have seen huge improvements within such a small time frame by simply removing dead weight. So working smarter and not harder is the goal for 2017!
Too many times we develop these amazing ideas and instead of following through with them we begin to tear them down as a result of comparing ourselves to others and how we measure up against them. This behavior then allows for negativity to creep in and discourage us tremendously. In 2016 this was the story of my life. I allowed myself to fall victim to this vicious cycle way too many times and enough was enough. In 2017 I plan to focus on what I need to accomplish for the sake of exploration and getting things accomplished while also focusing on my passion and things that make me happy.
With this fresh new start, I look forward to an amazing year without getting into my own way and holding myself back with the mindset of “Just Do IT” Nike style!
What New Year’s resolutions have you made for 2017? I’d love to hear.
